Leason Dancaescu

Leason (Lee-Zon) was introduced to surfing by his older cousin who gave him his first board when he was 10 years old. As a young surfer on the island of Pensacola Beach, FL, he found community among the older crew of surfers — he looked up to those guys and wanted to be just like them. Though he was able to develop as a surfer, he also took on the lifestyle that was modeled to him through his community. Chasing after waves, women, drugs, & alcohol were the norm, which led to him making poor decisions in his teens & twenties.

In his thirties, Leason was introduced to Jesus after attending a church on the beach that sprung up out of a Christian Surfers Bible Study. Having been an experienced traveler and photographer, he decided to go on a mission trip the church was taking to Haiti, which is where he encountered God & accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

He returned home knowing the Lord had called him to & prepared him for the mission field. Leason began serving regularly at Upper Room Church & Christian Surfers Pensacola, later serving as the Chapter Leader for Christian Surfers Pensacola. After numerous mission trips to El Salvador serving alongside the CS El Salvador leadership, he began helping to organize and lead mission teams to El Salvador as a means of allowing others to experience the love of Jesus.

Following a recent surf and serve mission trip to El Salvador, the Lord showed Leason the impact that Christian Surfers was having on unreached beaches across that country and how much the surf community needs to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord directed Leason’s heart to his own backyard, the Gulf Coast. God has placed it on his heart, to use him as a surf missionary to the beaches of the Gulf Coast so as to reach the lost surfers.
As a family on mission together, Leason and his wife Julia lead their two children with an eagerness for others to come to know the love of the Father through surfing, service, community, & discipleship.
