Have you ever thought about surfing blind folded? I got the privilege of volunteering at the ISA
parra championship at the HB pier. One of the divisions I was in the water as a extra set of
hands for safety.
The legally blind division was up and they were allowed a partner to paddle next to them. They could give them direction but couldn’t touch them. It was an incredible experience to watch up close with these athletes from all over the world paddle out at the pier 10 feet from the cement pilings. The athletes trust and the harmony with their guide was so inspiring. As I watched from the water I couldn’t help but think about the CSUS theme for the year “Send It.”
I was truly blown away by the athletes sending it on waves with out even being able to see. My prayers is “God, I want to be that good of a listener to you. When you send me I want to listen. When times get hard and I want to run and hide. I want to trust you and you have sent me to be a light in this world.”
I want to Send It in 2024.
As a staff we have been praying and planning for 2024. We are so excited as this years theme
of Send it, has been elevated to the top. We have all been challenged to go on waves that are outside our comfort zone. Share our faith with others we have not yet shared with. Go to places we have not yet gone. God use us. We have been sent into this world to be a light. Will you commit to going?
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I
said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
